Themed as ALARM, the 1st Fragrant Village Music Festival aims to awaken the city with music in wild and town. Renowned musician and composer from the UK and Netherlands rub shoulders with local rising artists for a spark
of refreshing music performance. This festival takes place across city centre and borderland villages whereby the audience can embrace different senses to taste the voice of Neoclassical music, explore the soul of Hong Kong

This is the first ever Asian tour for Gabriel Prokofiev (UK) to bring along his original work and ensemble with the young chamber orchestra The Timecrafters (HK) for performances at Eaton HK Hotel and a border village in Sha Tau Kok surrounded by old Hakka house next to the sea.

Gabriel Prokofiev is a London-based composer, producer, DJ. Composing music that both embraces and challenges western classical traditions, Gabriel has emerged at the forefront of a new approach
to classical music in the UK at the beginning of the 21st century. As a grandson of renowned Classical composer Sergei Prokofiev, Gabriel is nevertheless unbound by the limit of music genre and experiments the possibilities of Classical music with notable attempts of DJ–Classical mixture.
His Concerto for Turntables was performed at the BBC Proms in August 2011 to critical acclaim and it has since been performed by Seattle Symphony and Copenhagen Philharmonic.

The TimeCrafters aims to nurture classical music appreciation and rejuvenate classical chamber music performances. They focus on giving themed chamber concerts, and often they collaborate
with some of the most enthusiastic young musicians in town. Through light-hearted explanations and quality performances, members are proud to provide an intimate, informative and cosy chamber music experience to the audience.
The TimeCrafters Quartet has recently awarded full scholarship to attend the first Taipei Music Academy & Festival in 2019.

Programme TWO:Anne & Zef
Monique Krüs, a Neo-Opera composer from the Netherlands, will introduce her new opera play 'Anne & Zef' in Hong Kong with local collaboration by Vicky Shin (conductor), Joyce Law (singer), Lam Kwok Ho (singer), and Ensemble Traversée (orchestra) at the rich heritage of the historic Central Police Station compound - Tai Kwun and colourful village of valuable indigenous culture - Ping Che Mural Village.

Adopted from an original play of the same name by Ad de Bont (the Netherlands), 'Anne & Zef' is about a victim of the Jewish Holocaust in World War II, Anne Frank, and another young victim Zef who was killed in the Albanian war crisis in the 1990s. The play narrates about the darkness in the above warfare, their dream and fight for survival during detention, and echoes the misfortune of refugee and exile all over the world today.
